About Brealey + Newbury Accountants
Our office in Mansfield Woodhouse was established in 1998 by Andrew Brealey BSc. (Hons) M.A.A.T., when it was known as Andrew Brealey Accountants. The successful operation of this practice led to our expansion – resulting in the opening of our Huthwaite office.
Our History
After completing his university degree in business studies, our founder initially worked in the accounting office of a major international steelmaker. This company had a multi-million-pound turnover, and several thousand employees – making it an ideal place to start a career in accountancy. Andrew made the decision to move into private practice, where he worked for several years for a firm of chartered accountants while studying to gain accounting qualifications.
Next, Andrew moved to another accountancy practice with a view to taking control of operations when the current owner made the decision to retire. Andrew took over in 1998 and Andrew Brealey Accountants was formed.
A Powerful Partnership
10 years later, Andrew offered Steven Newbury the opportunity to become a business partner – which he accepted without hesitation. The firm became Brealey + Newbury Accountants.
A Family Firm
Steven Newbury has since moved to pastures new in America, although he still keeps in regular touch. His sister Suzanne Newbury has taken over the mantle and is now a junior partner in the firm.
